Effective September 13, 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how El ("El," "the application," "we," or "us") accesses, uses, stores, and protects information. El is an independently developed personal AI assistant intended for its owner and authorized test users.
Information El may access
El accesses Google account information only after a user grants permission through Google's OAuth consent process. Depending on the features the user authorizes, this may include basic account information and selected Gmail or Google Drive data. The exact permissions requested are displayed by Google before authorization.
How information is used
Google user data is used only to provide user-requested assistant features, such as reading or organizing selected information, preparing drafts, or carrying out an explicitly approved action. El does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
Local-first processing and storage
El is designed to process and store application data primarily on owner-controlled local infrastructure. Some data may also remain in the user's Google account. El does not transfer Google user data to an outside party except as necessary to provide a feature the user has deliberately enabled, comply with law, protect security, or complete an action explicitly requested by the user.
Data sharing
El does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Google user data is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. Any optional service integration is limited to the information needed for the requested function and remains subject to the user's authorization and the service provider's own terms.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored information is retained only as needed for the application's approved functions or until the owner deletes it. Users may revoke El's Google access at any time from their Google Account security settings. A user may request deletion of application-held data by contacting the developer.
Security
El uses authorization controls and bounded tool access intended to prevent unauthorized actions. No system can guarantee absolute security, but access credentials and application data are handled with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
Google API Services User Data Policy
El's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children's privacy
El is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as El's features change. The current version and effective date will always be published on this page.
